Sometimes I'd like to ask God why He allows poverty, famine and injustice when He could do something about it. But I'm afraid God might ask me the same question.

Blackboard quote of the week...

I saw this quote and wrote it up on the blackboard in my kitchen.  It has sparked a few good family conversations so I am going to change it every week and try to find an inspiring verse or quote to get us all thinking and talking, please share if you have any good ones!
I like this one especially because I am trying really hard to make choices not based on fear and worry, but choices that will help us live brave and full lives.

We do that in our kitchen too! Right now, we are counting down days to summer (1 More) but sometimes there are verses or fun sayings. Yea, another mommie trick from you. I want to try the special plate one. I will take the boys next week to the pottery place to make one. We have been making tiles every year waiting for Feiley also. They are hanging in my kitchen. Wish I was more creative.

I love that quote. Brought tears to my eyes. That's the same reaction I had when I first read the quote under your header.

I have a great quote from William Wilberforce that I want to post on my blog. I just have to find it again! I'll share it with you when I find it!

You can ask me homeschool questions anytime! lwillette@gmail.com

AWESOME quote...I put cool quotes up outside my desk so people walking by can see them...so far, my favorite has been: "Catch on fire with enthusiasm and people will come for miles to watch you burn." - Charles Wesley -

Its SO true...we live in such an apathetic age that those with enthusiasm are brilliantly shining beacons...Take, for example, Stephen Furtick.

Love it! I've got a couple favorite quotes: One from ?? - "You never hear of anyone on their deathbed looking back on their life and saying, 'I really wish I would have worked more." (or held held out forgiveness, or watched more t.v., or travelled less, etc) ie - do what is important to you NOW, with the ones you love.) One of my absolute favorites that I got - of all places! - out of a Chinese fortune cookie 3 years or so ago: "Speak only well of others and you need never whisper." Not exactly life-altering, but good words to live by. Then I came across this one just the other day in the front of our school cookbook: "Life is no brief candle to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for a moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it over to future generations." - George Bernard Shaw. We've been using our "special day" plate more recently, and I still love your heart cookie pan idea : ) Aching to meet Finn - some in-laws in town from France - hope to catch up with you soon (pool?)
