Sometimes I'd like to ask God why He allows poverty, famine and injustice when He could do something about it. But I'm afraid God might ask me the same question.

If you want to have Mina's picture painted on the inside of a snuff bottle (trust me -- it's really, really cool, they paint through a hole in the top of the bottle -- a tiny hole!), go and see Peter at "Peter's Place" in the Arts & Crafts building on the corner by the park, or at his other store, "The Shop on the Stairs". Trust me, of all the painters on the island, Peter is absolutely THE BEST. It's not very expensive (about 300Y when we were there) and it is a work of art. Go and check him out!

Make sure to see Jordan (at "Jordan's Place" - he's a Christian and loves to talk to fellow believers (and he'll do a calligraphy of Mina's name for her with no charge).

Have a great time on Shamian Island!
