I'm not sad to say that today is the last day of Homecoming week for Collin. I am also not lying when I say I was a little annoyed when Marc and Collin came in last night after shaving Collin's hair into a ridiculous mohawk all for the sake of a silly dress up day at school. Painting your kid green and shaving their head are two totally different kinds of crazy... am I right?
I probably wouldn't have cared, but I was seriously starting to think about our annual nightmare - the Christmas card photo.... You know the one time a year that we put everyone together at the same moment with their hair combed, teeth brushed, and clothes that don't have stains all down the front. It is a day filled with much angst... and I am already starting to dread, I mean plan it. Or at least I was until I saw my son, who is usually an extremely conservative, never push the style envelope kind of kid, how long until this train wreck grows out?

Oh Amy you just gotta love him! I feel your pain we never know what color hair our kids are going to come back to us with. It will be some what normal in a couple of weeks, but if I were you I would keep planning as normal and go with it! We had to do some family pictures with Tony's head looking like a cheeta! Now he looks at it and will ask why he was so STUPID!! It in fact is a little rewarding when they do that. :) Love ya girl, You'll make the best of it.
:::giggle::: I kinda like it...my Cali ways coming back, I guess...it ain't so bad.
Anywhoo, Christmas pictures are meant to be a moment in time...they are so glorious when you capture who your kids are at that one moment...lol...and in your case, you will have something to laugh about...in ten years or so.
With five, I'm kinda wondering how you are going to get them all in one place at one time...hmmmm...candy?
i think he looks great:) homecoming looks like it was a lot of FUN!!!
my son had a mohawk for 5th grade pictures last year, yes the one that goes in the yearbook. i made the mistake of PROMISING that if the Rays made it to the world series then he could get one....yeah, who would have thought?
ps-they grow out pretty quick....
~hee hee~ Oh sweetie....I would just shave the rest off and pray it grows super fast!! Sending BIG hugs your way!!
Oh, and thanks for reminding me of the pics I have to get for Christmas....AAAAHHHHHH!!!!!
I can only imagine how you felt when you first saw it. However, I agree with the others - either it will grow out and be fine or help to make a memory. And at least he is a good kid! And it is only hair! There are so many worse things. Easy for me to say, right? My kid didn't 1/2 shave his head!
I am SO cracking up right now, it's not even funny!!! And the HULK picture!!! Does the kid get any funnier?? Oops, sorry...I mean "annoying?" (ha! As SB said, easy for us with boys waist-high to chalk it up to fun and games!) I love you all the more for posting those pix, despite the fact he kind of scares me (j/k!) I'm curious to know how much he scored in tips at work this weekend compared to "pro-mo..." I say you go for the all-out,funked out family hair-dos for the Christmas card this year...maybe Finn inspired HIM - you do have a mohawk shot on here of her...hmmm....: )
P.S. - you know how you once referenced Mina not feeling like she's the center of attention anymore, now that Finn is here? Maybe that's what C is going through...maybe he just needs a little extra attention (snicker! Sorry - still cracking up! Please go easy on me when it's my turn to go through this...take pity! ; )
i love collin
